The rock is soft and chossy - typical of mudstone cliffs.

WARNING: Please be aware multiple fixed anchors failed at low loads under load testing (10/9/2024). Testing of alternative fixed anchors also failed to produce suitable full-strength fixed anchors. It is advised to not to rely on any fixed anchors at this crag.

Testing undertaken by the CCT with advice from experienced route developers, concluded that the siltsone in this location is of inadequate strength to support suitable long-term fixed anchors. Anchors were also found to have been installed incorrectly, resulting in anchor failure from low torsional loads. Many of the first and second bolts on the established routes have been removed, or red-tagged to prevent inadvertent climbing. All bolts are planned to be removed in the future.

Prior to installing fixed anchors, please consult the CCT Fixed Anchor Guidelines and manufacturers installation instructions.
https://www.climbersclubtas.org.au/_files/ugd/c158a8_97393902ceea4afcaf06deafecc32257.pdf" history="" access="The cliff is accessed via the end of Taronga Road, just past the Bonnet Hill Shot Tower.
